The “Italian rainbow in Vietnam” festival closed in Hanoi on October 8 in the presence of Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Massimo D’Alema, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Matacotta Cordella, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and others.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr Massimo D’Alema praised the six-month long festival that featured 40 cultural events and highlighted the latest trends and cultural and economic traditions of Italy. The event received a positive response from the Vietnamese public and has opened a new chapter in further deepening relationship between the two countries, said Mr Massimo D’Alema.

For his part, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, said that the “Italian rainbow in Vietnam” festival is the largest and longest cultural festival ever to be held by a foreign country in Vietnam. He said the event has not only served as a bridge between the two cultures but has also provided a good opportunity for both countries to share their experiences and tap into potential cooperation in economics, trade, architecture and tourism.
