Champs-Élysées Orchestra enthralls Hanoi audiences
(VOV) - The Champs-Élysées Symphony Orchestra will perform a special concert at the Hanoi Opera House on June 15 under the baton of renowned conductor Philippe Herreweghe.
Comprised of 33 musicians, the orchestra’s repertoire will include movements from works written by H. J. Rigel and W.A. Mozart.
Famous conductors, including Daniel Harding, Christian Zacharias, Louis Langrée, Christophe Coin, and René Jacobs, have all been invited to participate in the concert.
The performance commemorates the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties.
The Champs-Élysées Orchestra was founded in 1991 by musicians who were also lecturers. Its recent tours have featured concerts at prestigious venues like Musikverein (Vienna), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Barbican Centre (Londres), Philharmonies (Munich, Berlin, and Cologne), Alte Oper (Frankfurt), Gewandhaus de Leipzig, Lincoln Center (New York), Parco della Musica (Rome), and halls in Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China.
The Champs-Élysées orchestra always reserves time for public meetings and school workshops on the sidelines of each of its concerts.
