Japan helps HCM city train officials

(VOV) - Cooperation in training governmental officials could serve as the linchpin connecting and strengthening all-around cooperation between Japan, Vietnam and HCM City in the time ahead.

Yosida Kozo, head of the  Human Resources Development Bureau of Japan made the affirmation on November 7 at a meeting with Tat Thanh Cang, vice chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee.

At the meeting, Cang said HCM City and Japanese localities and businesses have developed a time-honoured relationship. At present, Japan has become one of the leading nations investing and opearting effectively in the city.

Cang highlighted the success of past cooperative programmes betwen Japan and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration in training officials and expressed hope for continued success in the future.

Kozo in turn said his Vietnam visit aimed to survey the real situation of personnel training in Vietnam. He added the delegation would hold a working session with the Home Affairs Department  on concrete plans to provide support to the city.

Professor Yosida Kozo emphasised with great potential for development, HCM City could provide a good opportunity for both nations to accelerate cooperation in various realms, notably in training and education.
