The Friendship Ping-pong Tournament, to promote solidarity and friendship among ASEAN nations, was held on September 18 by the Vietnamese embassy in Egypt.
Nearly 50 diplomatic staff from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei and Myanmar participated the tournament.
In the end, Myanmar team received first prize in men’s doubles while Indonesia team came in second and Vietnam team got third.
Brunei team won the championship in single event, followed by Thailand and Indonesia.
ASEAN representatives in Egypt plan to hold badminton and golf tournaments in the future.
