HCM City provided steady jobs for nearly 34,000 labourers in the last four months, of which 1,400 were sent to work overseas for certain periods, said Dinh Kim Hoang, Vice Director of the City’s Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

The city also organised refresher courses for 2,000 enterprises to study the Government Decree on the minimum wages for Vietnamese labourers working in foreign-invested companies.

The Department is experimentally collecting information on labour markets at the request of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, with a view to keeping track of local enterprises’ demands for employees, as well as sectors’ shortage of human resources.
