The first ever Vietnam Masters Golf Tournament is to take place at the Phuong Hoang golf course, northern Hoa Binh province, from November 22-26.

The competition, with total prize money of US$500,000 up for grabs and a first prize of US$90,000, will be a chance for experts to select top Vietnamese talent to compete in the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.

Only those ranked 1-65 at the Asian masters golf tournaments will be allowed to take part in the Vietnamese competition. As hosts, Vietnam can enter a maximum of 10 golfers.

The event, organised by the provincial People’s Committee, Vietnam Golf Association and Asian Professional Golf Association, is expected to attract 144 golfers from around the world.
