Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his wish to strengthen Vietnam’s cooperation with the Philippines and Myanmar in his separate receptions for two new Ambassadors from those countries in Hanoi on July 10.

Receiving Ambassadors Laura Quiambao de Rosario of the Philippines and U Aung Them of Myanmar, PM Dung said he expects the Ambassadors to serve as a link for further bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, national defence, culture, and education.

Both Ambassadors said they appreciate their opportunities to work in Vietnam. They informed the Vietnamese PM of preparations being made for his coming official visits to their own countries, which are expected to bring the relations of bilateral cooperation, particularly in economics, trade and investment to a new height.

Ambassador Rosario also said the Philippines aims to double its annual two-way trade with Vietnam from US$1 billion to US$2 billion, and its industrial and pharmaceutical businesses are increasing their investment in Vietnam.
