Ambassador honoured with Belgian order

(VOV) - Vietnam Ambassador to Belgium Pham Sanh Chau, has been presented with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of the Kingdom of Belgium, first class, in recognition of his positive contributions to reinforcing the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

The award ceremony was held on June 23, attracting more than 100 guests, including ambassadors and representatives from different ministries and sectors. 

Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Bruno Angelet said the two countries’ cooperation has grown steadily since they established diplomatic ties 42 years ago. 

He extolled Chau’s remarkable contributions to the two nations’ cooperation in politics, economics, culture and education during his tenure in Belgium from 2011 to 2014. 

Pham Sanh Chau, who is currently Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' External Relations Culture Department expressed his great honour to receive the award, saying he believes the Vietnam-Belgium friendship and all-round cooperation would continue to grow and flourish for peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the wider world.
