Vietnam and China have agreed to meet again in Vietnam in December for further negotiations on land border delineation and marker planting as a follow-up to recent negotiations.

The Chairs of the Vietnam-China Joint Committee on Border Delineation and Land Border Marker Planting met for the 18th round in Beijing, China, from October 27 to November 5.

They shared the view that the process of border delineation and marker planting needs to be sped up in an effort to finish the work by 2008 as previously agreed upon by the leaders of the two countries.

During the meeting, which was described by the two sides as friendly and frank, negotiators also emphasised the need to actively work together to achieve the goals set by the heads of the Governmental delegations of the two countries.
