At a working session with Deputy Chair of the London Assembly Jennette Arnold and Deputy Mayor of London Joanne McCartney on May 31, as part of her visit to the UK, the Vietnamese legislator said the trip aims to exchange experience in constructing a rule-of-law State and contribute to boosting the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership.

Phong was briefed on the development of London, especially its urban planning strategy.

Jennette Arnold informed her guest about the successes reaped by Vietnamese in the host city, while Joanne McCartney said the UK and Vietnam should step up their bilateral ties, particularly their cooperation in education.

Later the same day, Phong had a meeting with representatives of “Facing the World” – an international charity organisation, and the executive board of the UK-Vietnam Friendship Network (UVFN).

The legislator thanked British surgeons for their tireless efforts to bring new lives to Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin, as well as the UVFN for their contributions to enhancing the friendship and multi-faceted collaboration between the two countries.

During her visit to the UK from May 29-June 3, the NA Vice Chairwoman is scheduled to meet with the Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons and the All-Party Parliamentary Group.
