The Ministries of Industry, Trade and Finance are working to establish a company to provide export credit insurance for exporters and banks.

The establishment of such a company is to meet the demand of many Vietnamese businesses as it aims to help them reduce risks arising from unpredictable fluctuations in the value of major currencies commonly used in international trade.

Worldwide-applied export credit insurance remains unpopular to Vietnamese businesses although the service has already been offered by the Vietnam Insurance Corporation, the Ho Chi Minh City Insurance Corporation, the Oil and Gas Insurance Company, and the Vietnam Rubber Association.

According to the ministries, the project will be submitted to the Government for consideration in May.
