Vietnam’s electricity shortages at every rush hour this August are estimated at between 1,000 and 1,500MW, according to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

This has been attributed to the unstable operations of some new sources of electricity supplies.

The maximum additional use during rush hours may reach between 12,000 – 12,500MW per day while the available capacity is only 11,000MW, the EVN said.
