Vietnam has set a target of supplying clean water to all urban areas across the country by 2025, providing an average volume of 120 litres of clean water/person/day.

By 2050, Vietnam will provide an adequate volume of clean water to industrial zones in a stable manner. To achieve this target, the country will apply new technologies use more surface water than underground water in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other big cities.

In addition, new water supply networks will be built in provinces and cities, while priority will be given to carrying out water supply projects.

In the meantime, Vietnam is reinforcing drainage systems to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
