The 3rd Vietnam-Japan Exhibition of Support Industries opened at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre on November 12.

On display are mechanical products, moulds, plastics and packaging for the automobile, electronics and electrical industries.

The event was first held in Ho Chi Minh City in December 2004. Since then, Hanoi and HCM City have taken turns holding it.

The 3rd exhibition has attracted 54 Japanese and 62 Vietnamese companies.

On addressing the opening ceremony, Do Thang Hai, Head of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), said that the event is a good opportunity for managers to appreciate Vietnam’s support industries and give them ideas on how to develop in the future during the process of global economic integration.

The exhibition also contributes to strengthening the links between Japanese businesses and their Vietnamese partners, speed up the transfer of technologies and enhance their ability to compete.

The Vice-President of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Mr. Yanagida, said he hopes that the exhibition will promote trade between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses and develop Vietnam’s support industries.

Currently, there are nearly 1,400 Japanese entrepreneurs from this industry investing in Vietnam.

The exhibition was organised by VIETRADE, under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with JETRO.
