Telephone export soars in first seven months

Vietnam's export of electronics, computers and components saw a sharp year-on-year increase of 57.8%, hitting US$8.7 billion in the first seven months of this year.

Telephones and components, worth US$17.1 billion, were exported in the first seven months, a 28.2% increase compared to the same period last year. 

The production index of mobile phones and televisions increased sharply, compared to 2014, up 56.9% and 40.4% respectively, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said. 

The import turnover of electronics, computers and components reached US$13.1 billion, a 34.5% year-on-year increase. 

Telephones and components worth US$6.1 billion were imported, up 35%. The largest importers of telephones and components manufactured in Vietnam are China and the Republic of Korea , the GSO said.
