Khanh Hoa: Anti-State saboteurs receive prison sentences

The People’s Court of the central province of Khanh Hoa on August 23 handed down jail sentences of two and three years to two men on charge of propagandising against the State of Vietnam.

Nguyen Huu Thien An (L) and Nguyen Huu Quoc Duy receive prison sentences for propagandising against the State of Vietnam
They are 21-year-old Nguyen Huu Thien An and 31-year-old Nguyen Huu Quoc Duy, both residing in Cam Phu ward, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province.

According to the indictment, An often surfed reactionary websites defaming the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On April 17, 2015, he drew a reactionary slogan on the wall of the headquarters of Vinh Phuoc ward police in Nha Trang city, in response to the call of the Viet Tan reactionary group. The Viet Tan invited him to participate in a communications training course co-organised by Viet Tan, the Radio Free Asia (RFA) and the Article 19 Organisation in Singapore one month later.

Also, Duy regularly accessed websites producing information against the Vietnamese State between 2009 and November 2015. In 2015, he compiled and shared scores of articles distorting policies and guidelines of the Party and the State of Vietnam.
