Representatives of the Singaporean group Sembcorp and the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) joint venture conducted a fact-finding tour of central Quang Ngai province on August 15 to study investment opportunity.

Sembcorp, which holds a dominant stake of VSIP, expects to build a service facility in the province to supply electricity, water as well as environmental treatment technologies to factories located in the Dung Quat Economic Zone (IZ).

The Sembcorp representative emphasised the need to build a petrochemical industrial zone next to the Dung Quat oil refinery to promote its economic efficiency.

Sembcorp provided services in four key fields: utilities, marine, environment and industrial parks, and operated in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Middle East and across Asia.

The group has an integrated team of almost 7,000 employees worldwide responsible for total assets exceeding US$8.7 billion.

The VSIP joint venture, which operates the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in southern Binh Duong province, is now carrying out a number of projects in Bac Ninh province and Hai Phong city in the north.
