A ceremony was held in Hanoi on December 3 to mark International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (Nov. 29).

A film “Doi Mat To Quoc” “Fatherland Eyes” was also screened on this occasion. The film, a sole cooperation between the Vietnam Documentary Film Unit and Palestinian cinematographers in 1981, reflects Palestinian people’s desire for peace and a return to their homeland from refugee camps.

Dao Van Binh, President of the Hanoi chapters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, affirmed consistent support to the just Palestinian struggle and basic Palestinian national rights.

Binh called on peace and progress-loving people worldwide to continue supporting the Palestinian cause in the struggle for their prescribed rights at the United Nations and regional forums to promote the Middle East peace process.

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama spoke highly of the long lasting solidarity and warm support of Vietnamese people and worldwide peace and progress loving people who stand with the Palestinian people in its efforts to gain a just peace.

The diplomat expressed deep gratitude towards the UN and relevant agencies for their major efforts to raise awareness of the need to protect the Palestinian people’s interests.
