Numerous cultural activities will be held on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM-43) and the 17th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF-17), said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on July 15.

The most prominent event will be a photographic exhibition on Vietnam-ASEAN relations over the past 15 years organised by Vietnam News Agency and the Foreign Ministry at the National Convention Centre from July 19-23 and at the Opera House on August 7.

On July 19, the National Committee for ASEAN and Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will hold an awards ceremony for the contest titled “An ASEAN community of solidarity and prosperity”.

ASEAN Cuisine Day, as part of the Vietnam-ASEAN Week will be held from July 28- August 8 to celebrate the Year that Vietnam holds the ASEAN Chair, the 43rd anniversary of ASEAN (1967-2010) and the 15th anniversary of Vietnam’s admission to ASEAN (1995-2010).

More than 700 foreign and Vietnamese journalists have so far registered to cover the AMM-43, the ARF-17 and other related meetings.

The International Press Club fully equipped with internet connections, telephones and fax machines will be operational from July 16-23.
