ASEAN member countries recognised Vietnam as a country with a full market economy at an informal meeting of the ASEAN Economic Ministers held in Brunei on May 5.

They called on ASEAN countries and others nations to do the same towards Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen expressed his hope that WTO members will also have full, proper and fair views on Vietnam’s efforts to name itself recognised as a country with a full market economy soon.
