Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Oictober 26 gave the green light to seven projects with total investment of US$5.47 billion in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (OEZ) in central Quang Nam province.

The seven projects include a project to build Chu Lai international airport, another to build Ky Ha port and the Chu Lai free trade area; a project to manufature equipment to treast waste; a plant to manufacture equipment for the aviation industry and provide civil artcaft maintenance services; a project to build new top-end urban areas along the coast; the construction of trading entertainment centres in Tam Hai island commune; and a project to develop and maintain a clean industrial zone and high-tech zone.

The Prime Minister also called for an increase in foreign investment over the 2006-2010 period.
