Czech businesses will have more opportunities to penetrate Ho Chi Minh City’s market, considered the largest market in Vietnam, said Czech Industry and Trade Minister Martin Riman at the opening of Czech Trade, a trade representative office of the Czech Republic, in Ho Chi Minh City on November 15.

Czech Trade will be a bridge between traders and investors of the two countries, he said.

Minister Martin Riman at a meeting with HCMC municipal Mayor Le Hoang Quan the same day stressed that the current level of two-way trade value standing at 120 million USD is still modest in comparison with the potential of the two countries.

Mayor Quan told the guest about the city’s schemes on transport and urban infrastructure development. He said more than 500 businesspeople in the city, who have studied and worked in the Czech Republic, will join hands to enhance economic ties, trade and investment between the two countries.

The Czech Industry and Trade Minister paid a visit to Vietnam on November 14-15 and was accompanied by 29 businesspeople in the industry, electrical equipment, water treatment, trade, finance and service sectors.

During the visit, the delegation attended a Vietnam-Czech Investment and Trade Forum held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on November 15.

Present on the occasion were 100 Vietnamese businesspeople who focused on discussing the investment environment and legal framework for commercial and service activities, and opportunities for cooperation./.
