Vietnam team heads for ABU Robocon 2016

VOV.VN -The national Robocon team from Lac Hong University has departed for Thailand to compete at – ABU Robocon 2016 – set for August 21 at the Sports Authority Stadium in Bangkok.

This year’s contest is themed ‘Clean Energy Recharging the World’ and aims to create an awareness of the importance of efficient energy consumption and clean and renewable energy utilization.

As part of the competition, each team is required to build two robots; an Eco Robot and a Hybrid Robot. The Eco Robot doesn’t have an actuator to drive but must receive its driving energy from the Hybrid Robot.

The Eco Robot also has only one steering actuator to control its direction, to traverse the slopes, hills and rivers on a track constructed at the stadium, which all should make for an exciting and action packed competition.

As planned, the team will hold a rehearsal upon arrival on August 20 at the stadium to prepare for the official competition. This is the sixth time Lac Hong University is representing Vietnam at the national robot competition.
