Vice Chairman Thanh thanked the PDS's support for Vietnam during the country's resistance wars for national liberation.

He expressed his hope that Chairman Lothar Bisky, who is also a member of the German National Assembly's culture and mass media committee, will continue contributing to fostering understanding between the two peoples and two parliaments.

The PDS Chairman spoke highly of Vietnam's socio-economic achievements over the past years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He said he and the PDS delegation wanted to learn about the organisation of the Vietnam National Assembly and the country's development of a socialist-oriented market economy, as well as policies to deal with labour strikes.
