Choummaly Sayasone, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos, has reaffirmed his country’s unswerving policy to develop its special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

C. Sayasone described the relationship as vital to revolutionary success in the two countries while meeting with a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Ho Duc Viet, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party CC Organisation Commission, in Vientiane, Laos, on November 22.

The Lao leader expressed profound sympathy over recent huge loss of life and materials caused by storms and floods to Vietnam.

Mr Viet said under the sound leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people will certainly win greater achievements, thus successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous Laos.

During its visit, the delegation of the CPV CC Organisation Commission held talks with its LPRP counterpart led by its head, Bounthong Cheatmany, who is also a member of the LPRP Central Committee.

The Vietnamese guests also visited several economic and cultural establishments in Vientiane and Luangphabang province.
