The official draw to determine the groups for the AFF-Suzuki Cup 2010 will be held in Vietnam on September 15. Qualifying rounds for the event will be held on October 22-30 in Laos. The finals will be played from December 1-29 in Vietnam and Indonesia.
This year’s winning team will receive US$100,000, while the runners-up will get US$50,000 and US$15,000, respectively.
The AFF Suzuki Cup is the biggest football tournament in the ASEAN region. it aims to raise the standard of ASEAN football to a world-class level and make football more popular in the region. The tournament will decide the top football nation among the AFF’s 11 members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and East Timor.
Suzuki sponsored the tournament for the first time in 2008.
