The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will assist Vietnam in building a socio-economic development strategy for the 2011-2020 period.

The US$2-million project was signed between representatives of the Vietnamese Government and the UNDP in Hanoi on July 30.

Christophe Bahuet, deputy director of the UNDP representative office in Vietnam, expressed his hope that the project will help Vietnam better understand the international rules in order to build a good national development strategy, he added.
