Carmaker Skoda has begun recruiting workers from Vietnam for its factories in the Czech Republic as it struggles with a labour shortage.

The carmaker Skoda has used an employment agency to recruit hundreds of workers from Vietnam, the UK’s Times newspaper reported.

It said it has looked to Vietnam because it regards Vietnamese workers as disciplined and attentive to detail.

“We have a shortage of labour so we are using employment agencies to bring in staff. Vietnam is one of the areas we are bringing people from,” a Skoda official said.
Skoda’s output is set to exceed 640,000 vehicles this year, the UK paper noted.
