The 2006 Ok Om Bok Festival Fair opened in the Mekong delta province of Soc Trang on October 30 to mark a festive week for local Khmer ethnic people.

The fair attracted the participation of 118 businesses from the area and other provinces, which are displaying agro-fishery products, cosmetics, electronics, garments and other essential commodities.

The Khmer festival, known as the Moon Thanksgiving Ceremony, is being held across the province with many cultural and entertainment activities, including an annual competitive boat race, scheduled to take place on November 4 and 5.
