Dak Lak province has just harvested this year’s honey crop with a yield of over 4,500 tonnes, earning US$7 million. This is the fourth consecutive harvest that Dak Lak has led the country in terms of honey output and export value, making up over 30 percent of the country’s total export turnover.

The province now has more than 150,000 swarms of bees and expects to increase this number in the next few years.

Apart from increasing the number of swarms, the quality of Dak Lak’s bees has been improved thanks to raising new breeds and applying more effective methods. Vietnam’s honey has been much appreciated by even the most fastidious consumers.

Dak Lak province plans to export products of high economic value from honey and also from bees, like wax and royal jelly.
