Hoa Binh: drug trafficker sentenced to death
The People’s Court of the northern province of Hoa Binh on February 4 sentenced Kha A Denh to death for illegal drug trafficking.
His accomplice, Kha A Sua, was given 20 years’ imprisonment for the same charge.
According to the verdicts, Denh, born in 1974 and Sua, born in 1982, resided in Hang Kia 2 village, Hang Kia commune, Mai Chau district before they were caught trading 25 cakes of heroin weighing over 8,671 grams in Tan Son commune, Mai Chau district, on July 12, 2014.
Sua violently resisted the arrest and injured an on-duty official.
Denh and Sua ultimately confessed to bringing the drugs from Song A Su in Van Ho district, the neighbouring province of Son La, to sell to buyers in Hanoi for VND150 million (US$7,050) per cake.
