Ministers of Health and Home Affairs will take part in question time at the sixth session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee, which opened in Hanoi on March 19.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien will focus on issues related to ensuring the human resources for the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as medical ethics and the adjustment of hospital fees.

Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thai Binh will answer questions on the recruitment and training of State employees, policies for communal cadres, and measures to increase the capacity of local apparatus.

The Standing Committee will also hear a report on the implementation of the 1992 Constitution by the Drafting Committee for Amendment of the Constitution (DCAC).

In addition, it will give opinion on some bills and important issues such as the draft amendments to the Tax Management Law; the draft laws on the prevention and control of smoking, anti-money laundering, deposit insurance, trade union, and tertiary education.

Lawmakers will also discuss plans to allocate Government bonds in 2012 and increase the increase the number of judges in local people’s courts in 2012 and 2013.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the sixth session will be carried out in the spirit of innovation, in order to improve the NA’s operational efficiency.
