India and Pakistan have agreed to exchange information and assist in investigations into terrorist activities as part of their counter-terrorism cooperation.

According to a joint statement, issued after the second round of talks of the India-Pakistan Anti-Terrorism Mechanism in New Delhi on October 22, the two sides shared information on terrorist incidents since the last group meeting.

The Indian delegation was led by KC Singh, Additional Secretary and Counter-terrorism Coordinator at the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry, and his Pakistani counterpart was Khalid Aziz Babar.

The two sides reviewed the follow-up steps taken on the information shared during the first meeting of the group held in Islamabad on March 6 this year and during the intervening period.

The next meeting of the Mechanism is expected to be held early next year.
