Vietnam, Slovakia step up collaboration
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received on June 3 Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Robert Kalinak in Hanoi.
The Prime Minister hailed the outcome of talks between Minister Robert Kalinak and Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam and urged the two ministries to increase cooperation in combating crimes.
PM Phuc suggested Vietnam and Slovakia increase two-way trade and asked Slovakia to support the signing of Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement. He said the two countries’ trans-governmental committee needs to hold sessions soon to discuss cooperation programmes.
Phuc also affirmed Vietnam's readiness to facilitate Slovak investors, particularly in the sectors of infrastructure construction, health, and garment.
The Slovak leader highlighted the importance of furthering bilateral ties in the time to come and said he expects Prime Minister Phuc to pay an official visit to his nation soon.
The same day Minister of Public Security To Lam also had a meeting with Robert Kalinak, during which Minister Lam told his guest about outcomes of a recent visit to Slovakia of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security from March 4-6.
Lam underlined the need for both nations continue to exchange delegations and experience in fighting crime and work together to hunt wanted persons hidden in their respective countries and to facilitate Vietnamese and Slovak expatriates.
He asked the Slovak Minister of Interior to provide training for Vietnamese police on dealing with money laundering and cyber crime and carrying out search and rescue missions.
