Hanoi French War period (1945-1954) exhibition opens

VOV.VN - The Hanoi Museum has launched a major exhibition presenting life in the capital City during the French War period (1945-1954).

Pictured is a Minsk motorbike most preferred by Hanoians at the time. The first Minsk was manufactured in Russia in 1951.

The exhibition includes nearly 200 documents, photographs and artefacts about the resistance of the army and people of Hanoi from 1945-1954.

The exhibition includes about 10 booths. Pictured are booths displaying artefacts from the period used in everyday life.

Visitors can view the familiar objects used around the home such as these iron enamelled bowls and copper trays.

Designers Do Trinh Hoai Nam says: "I feel tremendous value from each of the smallest objects.” He poses for photo standing in front of table showing decorative household items of the period.

Mr Lanh, says he has spent the better part of the past 22 years collecting memorabilia from the period. In the photo, he sits on a specialized motorbike popular for military use of the period.

Pictured is a 50-year old clock from the period,

a typewriter,

a rotary phone,

a radio,

and a clock. The exhibition runs through January 3, 2017.
