Addressing the meeting, VOV Director General Vu Van Hien underscored the importance of building a network of stringers, who account for about 50 percent of news and features produced by the Danang-based bureau from July 2009 to June 2010.

He said the stringers have helped VOV keep abreast of important developments in the region and make timely, in-depth reports on the current struggle against crimes and legal violations. Most of their news stories are used in daily radio and TV broadcasts, uploaded onto the VOV News online, and printed on the VOV Weekly.
