An agreement on land leasing was signed between Singapore’s Mapletree Investment Pte Ltd and Becamex Investment and Development Corporation in Binh Duong province on October 14.

Covering 75ha, the US$400 million high-tech city, the first of its kind funded by the Singaporean firm, will house companies specializing in the production of high-tech, software products, back room and middle room manufacturing and development of value-added goods.

Mapletree has already inaugurated its 68ha forwarding operations area in Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park II with a total investment of US$110 million.

Nguyen Hoang Son, chairman of the Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee, spoke highly of the group’s investment in the province and affirmed that Binh Duong will create the most favourable conditions for the project to be completed on time and start operating soon.
