The increasing number of web hacking cases has negatively affected individuals and organizations both domestically and internationally.

This was said at the third National Information Security Day jointly held by the Ministry of Information and Communications, (MIC) the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA), and the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT) in Hanoi on November 23.

The event, which was attended by representatives of ministries, relevant agencies, and provincial departments of information and communications, focused on creating for national information security.

According to the participants, Vietnam is among the 10 countries suffering from the most serious information insecurity. They attributed the problem to lack of security on the internet and digital space, and inability of organisations and individuals to recognize web hacking.

Therefore, it is very essential to raise public awareness of information security through communication campaigns, said participants.

The annual National Information Security Day is expected to help State agencies introduce appropriate policies to ensure information security.

This year’s event falls under the national plan to improve the information security in the 2010-2020 period, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.
