Thanh wins gold in Asian gymnastics champs
(VOV) - Phan Thi Ha Thanh on November 13 won Vietnam’s first-ever Asian vault gold with 14,700 points in the fifth Asian artistic gymnastics championships held in China.
In the previous world championships, Thanh had once bagged a bronze medal with 14,666 points. Four years ago, Thanh finished third.
Meanwhile, in the pommel horse event, Chinese gymnast Liu Rongbing touched gold for the third time. Another Chinese athlete Wu Liufang topped the list in the women’s uneven bars event.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) veteran Ri Se Gwang won the men’s rings.
