More than 6,000 State employees, staff, students and foreigners working in Ho Chi Minh City joined a walk on May 12 to support Agent Orange victims and disabled people.

The event, entitled “Walking and donating blood for Agent Orange victims and poor disabled people”, was held by the municipal Red Cross Society, in cooperation with Vietnam Television.


Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council Pham Thi Phuong Thao and other participants walked along Le Duan, Dong Khoi, Ly Tu Trong and Ton Duc Thang streets. After the walk, individuals and businesses contributed over VND1.58 billion in support of Agent Orange victims, families of Agent Orange victims, poor and disabled people.


At the start of the walk, 52 staff from the Ho Chi Minh City Lawyers delegation volunteered to donate blood, bringing the total of blood donated in the city on May 12 to 520 units.
