A giant folk musical instrument park, which is expected to enter the Guinness World Record, is being built by Ha Long Company in the Lang Co tourism resort in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

The 40-ha park will feature different folk musical instruments and local festivities as well, said Tran Van Son, who is in charge of the company's material production.

Around 200 musical instruments will be made of different materials in two years, Mr Son said, adding that 10 of them will be completed on the occasion of the Lang Co Sea Legend Festival (June 10) and 160 others will be registered for the Guinness World Record.

The idea of building such a park was initiated by Prof. Tran Van Khe, who said proper attention has not been paid to a large number of the country's diversified folk musical instruments.

However, Mr Son said, the sound needs to be adjusted as these copy instruments are made of composite.
