The second Vietnamese traditional martial arts international festival kicked off in central Binh Dinh province on July 31, drawing more than 1,000 athletes from 74 martial arts groups from 26 countries and territories and 50 domestic ones.

The martial artists will participate in a number of bouts and performance events during the four-day event.

The event also offers martial arts lovers a good chance to get together and exchange experiences, further strengthen relations between artists and schools and contribute to promoting Vietnamese cultural values and traditional martial arts.

On the fringes of the festival, martial arts groups will also visit Vietnam’s cradle of martial arts’ the most outstanding martial arts villages and schools such as An Thai, An Vinh, Ho Sung and Phi Long Vinh.

The festival, as part of the ongoing Tay Son - Binh Dinh festival, is co-organised by the Federation of Ancient and Traditional Martial Arts of Vietnam and the provincial department of culture, sports and tourism.
