A photography exhibition entitled ‘Vietnamese and Germany homelands’ is taking place from September 20 to October 2 in the German city of Leipzig, where many Vietnamese expatriates live and work.

The photos by Vietnamese artists capture lively images of the lives of workers in Vietnam, said Le Van Hien, a Counsellor from the Vietnamese embassy in Germany.

Leipzig’s Mayor Andreas Mueller remarked that the exhibition contributed to the celebrations of Vietnam Year in Germany 2010 as well as the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Regarding the Vietnamese community in Leipzig, Mueller said that they are hard-working, dynamic people who have integrated well into German society. He especially praised their children for their excellent academic achievements.
