The domestic gold price hit a new record of VND17.78 million (US$1,100) a tael on January 24 after a modest decrease some days ago.

In Ha Noi, the selling price of gold was VND17.6 million (US$1,100) a tael, a rise of VND320,000 (US$20) from the previous day.

The gold price on the world market currently stands at US$908.8 an ounce, an increase of US$14.41 from January 25.
