A photo exhibition themed "Hanoi 1996-2006" opened at the French Cultural Centre in Hanoi on May 16 as part of activities to mark the 100th founding anniversary of the Indochina University (now Hanoi National University).
Hundreds of black and white photographs taken in the 1898-1906 period offer viewers a retrospective look at the past life of Hanoi citizens, as well as the people and beautiful sceneries close to Hanoi.
Meanwhile, photos taken by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists captured the life of Hanoi citizens in the new period and show the vigorous changes undergone by them in daily life.
