Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd (BSR), which manages the operation of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery, is committed to selling Vietnam Air Petrol Company (Vinapco) 5,000 tonnes of Jet A1 petrol every month to supply to airports in the central region from now until the end of 2011.
Prices are under negotiation between Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Vietnam Airlines Corporation.
The use of domestic petrol will make it possible for businesses to save foreign currency and reduce the cost of transport and other spending on stores and ports.
Dung Quat Oil Refinery plans to produce about 400,000cu.m of Jet A1 petrol this year to meet 50 percent of domestic demand. Its product has been sold to Singapore’s BP firm and Vietnam Airlines.
