The central coastal city of Da Nang hopes to attract more foreign tourists with the Crowne International Resort opening on December 23.

Located on some 800sq.m on the city’s Bac My An Beach in Da Nang’s Ngu Hanh Son district, the casino will offer Baccarat Blackjack, Sic bo, Roulette and Caribbean Stud Poker games 24 hours  per day.

Crowne International Casino is part of the five-star Silver Shores International Resort which covers 20 hectares on Bac My An Beach, which was voted by Forbes Magazine as one of the six most beautiful beaches in the world.

Main guests to the casino will be groups from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, said general manager of the Silver Shores Resort, Felix Zhang. Under Vietnamese law, casinos are off-limits to local people.

In the initial stage, there will be two weekly flights from Guangzhou, China, to Da Nang from 15 January 2010, bringing Chinese guests to the casino. Another air route will be planned later.

The soft opening of the resort was scheduled for January 2010, with 270 rooms available for guests.

The project developer -Hoangdat Silver Shores Exceptional International Entertainment Co,Ltd said that it had invested more than US$1.6 billion in the resort and casino project that will become fully operational after two years of construction.

The resort is set to have a grand opening in July 2010.
