Vietnam's stall at the Festival of the Virgin Carmen in Mexico City has attracted more than 20,000 visitors, who came to celebrate the week-long cultural and religious event.

The stall, which was prepared by the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico City, displays traditional handicrafts, fine art products and silk, as well as publications on Vietnam and its people in the renovation process.

The Festival of the Virgin Carmen, also called the Flower Fair, takes place in several Mexican localities from July 9 - 17 annually to mark the inception of the country's popular religious sect 150 years ago.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Van Thinh participated in the fair's opening ceremony on July 10. In his talk with local reporters, the ambassador expressed his satisfaction at the fine development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
