In Lao Cai province there will be activities associated with the programme, such as an Upper Temple festival in February, an “in the clouds” festival in Sapa in late April and early May, a traditional horse race in Bac Ha in June, and “conquer Fanxipan Mountain” and a tourism festival in Lao Cai City in October.
Yen Bai province will host activities, including the Dong Cuong Temple festival in February, Dai Cai-Luc Yen Temple festival in March, a festival to mark the 110th anniversary of Yen Bai province, and Muong Lo cultural and tourism week in April.
Phu Tho province will organise “return to the roots of Vietnam” with a series of festivals in villages, the Hung Kings festival in April, and many other fairs and exhibitions.
One of the prominent events is a competition to plant a “Thang Long- Hanoi 1000 years” flag on Fanxipan Mountain in October as part of the activities to mark the 1,000th anniversary of the capital city.
The opening ceremony of the programme will be held on February 27 in Lao Cai City.
