The six-party talk on Pyongyang’s nuclear issue will resume in Beijing from July 18-19 with the participation of the chief negotiators of the concerned parties, according to Qin Gang, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The negotiators will discuss the implementation of the preliminary programme of action and the following steps towards the meeting, which will take place behind closed doors.

According to Mr Qin, the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsular is complicated which requires all concerned parties to conduct dialogues in an equal, respectful and constructive manner. He said the parties should fulfil their commitments to promote the negotiation process with the aim of denuclearising the Korean peninsular for the sake of peace, stability and development in North-east Asia.

China is committed to working hard with concerned parties to make the talk productive, said Mr Qin.
